Proposal Title: Connecting to the Iraq War at the Former Presidential Palace, 01/15/2009, Installation
Proposal Synopsis: The concept of this project would be to utilize the existing mandmade lakes at the Radwaniyah Presidential Palace in Baghdad, Iraq where pontoon bridges can be constructed that would house exhibit spaces as well as walkways for visitors. The existing palace can also be rehabilited as a museum for the war and other art. Due to its proximity to the International Airport, international and local visitors would find this a nice way to spend the day. This entire palace can be used for these purposes and the manmade lakes would be a good place to reflect and learn about the Gulf War.
In my pontoon bridge installation, visitors would have time and space to reflect as they look into the waters or stop in the glass enclosed exhibit spaces that house memorial for the war.
